Sappy post alert. I met Zach Myers when I was about 12 years old hanging around Yarborough’s Music taking my first drum lessons. He was the slightly older guitar prodigy making his name playing on Beale Street and we became pals. A few years later, he’d give my first band our first gig, opening up for the Zach Myers Band in front of several hundred people at Newby’s. A few years after that, he’d join Shinedown and help turn them into one of the biggest rock and roll bands out there. But in between, it’s a series of countless shows played together, BBQs, parties, and all that heavy shit everybody goes through when they’re young and everything matters so much. Fact is, I’ve known this dude for a long time and anybody that knows this dude knows he is Memphis to the core. Last night I got to watch him headline our hometown arena and completely destroy the place. They gave this punk ass Bartlett kid the key to dang city y’all! Next time you see me, I’m gonna be clowning on this dude but right now, I want to say that I’m so proud of my boi. Love you @zmyersofficial
